Dr. Palmer, Since we are going to be discussing "The Flores People Controversy" this week, I looked into this matter and found this article on the Science Daily website: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/09/100928025514.htm. Since a "Hobbit" fossil has been found in Indonesia in 2003, articles have been stating that "Hobbit" fossils represented new human species. However in 2009, an analysis of the size, shape and asymmetry of the cranium of Homo floresiensis, concluded that the “Hobbit" fossil is not human. And in 2010, a new paper was set to re-ignite debate over the origins of Homo floresiensis, suggesting that 'Hobbit' is an "Iodine-Deficient Human, Not Another Species". Thank you,
