DNA Testing

Hello Dr. Palmer, I wanted to submit a story for the extra credit component of the course. I thought this story about DNA testing was interesting and particularly relevant for the class based on the ethics topics we will be covering throughout the course. The story talks about the concern of the medical profession over selling DNA tests that might not be accurate to the public, informing individuals of their risks for various health problems. The study highlighted seems to conclude that people want to have access to this, and do not care very much about the accuracy. It is also surprising that most people did not change their health behaviors as a result of the testing. Here is the link for the story: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/18/science/18tier.html?_r=1&ref=science Thank you
