Hello Dr. Palmer! HuffingtonPost.com is a website that I commonly visit to read articles, mostly about healthcare issues and just current news. However, when you told us about the extra credit opportunity I was curious to see if I could find any articles pertaining to this week's topic, and I did! The article isn't exactly about conflict between creationism and evolution, but it does talk about conflict (or lack of) between science and religion. Like Gould's article, it discusses different areas where religion and science have disagreed, but, also like Gould's article, points out areas where the conflict is some what self-inflicted. It talks about how some of the most important scientific findings have in fact come from religious individuals (ex. Mendel who was a monk). The article concludes by pointing out how important it is for religion and science to co-exist and that they're both important for human development and relationships. It was just interesting to see another article on the subject and other conflicting subjects that kind of came to the same conclusion.
